Woman's Missionary Union

Welcome to WMU.  WMU is an important part of the life of our church.  It is our desire to strengthen our church in missions--to encourage everyone to learn more about missions, to pray for missions and missionaries, to give to missions and to be involved in missions.  We promote and participate in special studies and weeks of prayer for our state missions, international mission, and North American missions along with other special events such as Women's World Day of Prayer and WMU Focus Week.

Baptist Women have the opportunity at least twice a month to learn more about missions and missionaries, to be more informed on how to pray for missions and missionaries, and how to be involved in doing missions.

It is our desire that every man, woman and child have the opportunity to learn about and be encouraged to be on mission for our Lord Jesus.

The Brotherhood

The Brotherhood of the First Baptist Church meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 P.M., at Best Food Cafeteria.  This is an activity organization, serving our Lord by serving our fellow man.

Some of the projects include working on Habitat for Humanity homes, providing firewood for needy families and working with the Meals On Wheels program.

Benevolence Committee

The Benevolence committee is one of our most appreciated committees in our church.  They serve a luncheon to the family and friends of a deceased church member on the day of the funeral.  The food is donated by committee members and others in our church.  After the luncheon the extra food is taken to the family's home or distributed to shut-ins of our church or to a needy family.

     Media Library

Our Media Library ministry is a growing part of our church. it started with a handful of books in the Pastor's Study. Today, our Christian value-driven collection has reached nearly 2000 books and other media resources. The Media Library was refurbished in 1999 to include a parlor-reading area and a children's area.
