Jim grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he was active in First Baptist Church. He graduated from Wake Forest University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Duke University Medical Center.

Jim has been the pastor of churches in North and South Carolina and has been involved in national, state and local Baptist conventions and associations.

He is married to the former Sarah Jo Cates of Greensboro, N.C. They have two children, twins, Josh and Jennifer.

He has been a vital part of each community in which he has lived through civic clubs and volunteer organizations.

He enjoys all kinds of sports, especially golf. Reading and officiating high school football are two of his hobbies. But, the thing he enjoys the most in life, after being a husband and a father, is being the pastor of a church filled with warm and loving people.

Reverend Wall has announced his impending retirement from First Baptist for early summer 2008.

Reverend Dave Pierceall, Minister of Music and Special Ministries

Reverend Dave Pierceall is a graduate of William Jennings Bryan College (B.A.) and has done graduate studies at Southeastern Theological Seminary and Azuza University in California. He and his wife, Nancy, (who is the church pianist) have two children, Beth and Todd, and a seven year old grandson named Jimmy. "Sacred music at First Baptist Church is a means to a spiritual end. We seek to praise and glorify God through music, proclaim the message of salvation in song, and be a witness to the church and the world. Our music and special ministry programs seek to meet the spiritual needs of people through education and training, as a companion to the ministry of the preached word."

Ann Fulton, Church Secretary

Ann was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but grew up in Florence, South Carolina.

She has two children, Jeff and Heather. Jeff and his wife, Alisa, live in Columbia, South Carolina. Heather and her husband, Jason, live in Siler City.
